School-service
Teachers, pupils, and students, from schools and other places of education, often contact Forn Siðr, looking for information about Asatru. As a service to these groups we have assembled here internal links to the most educationally relevant parts of our web page.
This list is rather very short in English as most of the material is in Danish,

Forn Siðr regards its self as a very non-dogmatic community, where the individual may make his or her own interpretation of the mythology.
There are several translations and interpretations of the old texts, and it is difficult, even if we limit ourselves to the Danish texts, to indicate which is most correct, it depends largely on whether one put weight on literal content or flow, and atmosphere in the poems and stories.
Despite this we regard the old texts as an important part of the understanding of our religion, even though the are written by Christian men, writing in a Christian time – the original texts were written after Christianity was established as the state religion in Scandinavia.
We have little possibility of indicating English translations, however the original texts are :-
- The Older Edda – The prophecy of the Vølve for mythology and Håvamål for a philosophy of life)
- The Younger Edda - Gylfes Blænding for its prose mythology)
